Acrylic on Board- 8"x 10"
On a camping trip in Kananaskis Country, Alberta, I spotted this bird on the tip of a distant conifer. I got a few blurry photos, because I knew I had never seen a Scissor-Tailed Flycatcher before. It was only after I got home and did some research that I learned that although they are more common in the southern states, sightings are relatively rare in Canada. This painting shows the bird in a similar habitat to where I found it, with a mountain lake as a backdrop.
